Our Goal - Making a Difference

Dedicated Internet Access

According to a survey by LogicMonitor in their Cloud Vision 2020 report, 83% of business will utilize Cloud based platforms. 85% of Internet users are streaming video (as of January 2018)

Let’s face it, these applications simply perform better with Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).

However, The typical Internet user doesn’t understand the difference between the various types of internet access. They just want a business internet service that gets their job done without any buffering or locking up. Most options today will give you high-speed internet access, but they are still very different in several ways. And as a business, you want to invest in the internet connection that offers you the best reliable service for your budget and needs.

What is Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)?

Dedicated Internet Access provides service via a Fiber Optic cable and a circuit which is shared by no one else. It provides:

1. Guaranteed Bandwidth

With DIA, your company is guaranteed to receive the bandwidth you purchased, 100% of the time. If your company purchases a 100MB dedicated fiber Internet connection, you will always receive 100MB, or close to it

2. Symmetrical Upload and Download Speeds

DIA fiber provides symmetrical service meaning you get the same upload speeds as download speeds. Broadband, such as a Cable TV company, offers shared, asymmetrical service with varying upload and download speeds and service that is often shared with neighboring businesses. There is no doubt that DIA fiber is in another class when compared to broadband fiber. It’s a high-quality, secure, private connection for businesses that demand reliability and can’t afford to impact their operation with the cost of an outage.

3. Reliability

Fiber and cable internet connections are almost equally reliable. However, cable internet connections are impacted by factors that affect electricity.

If you live in an area with frequent cable interruptions and electricity outages, cable internet may not be a reliable source of internet for you. If you use cable internet you may need backup sources of the internet for such cases.

A fiber optic internet access does not experience interruptions from electrical outages. You’ll still be able to access your fiber-optic network without electricity because the cables are made of glass and do not conduct electricity. This protects the cables from fluctuating power voltages and risk of fires.

Since the fiber network cannot be interrupted as easily as other types of internet connectivity, it provides a more reliable network choice between the two network connections. In other words, a fiber network provides a consistent service.

4. Better Throughput

Cable Networks range from 10-500 Mbps downloads and 5-50 Mbps uploads, depending on the package available to you. These speeds will fluctuate greatly because you are on a shared network. Dedicated fiber networks range from 50 Mbps to 1000 Mbps for both download and upload. This is not shared with anyone other than your company and will remain constant, even during peak periods of use.
A great analogy would be a highway on-ramp (i.e. your circuit), vs. the actual highway (the ISP’s backbone network). The on ramp might be wide-open but if the freeway is packed with traffic, it’s going to take you a long time to reach your destination. DIA is essentially your own highway dedicated to your company’s use.

5. Service Level Agreements

A typical dedicated Internet access SLA will guarantee:
i. Network Uptime
ii. Latency
iii. Packet Loss
iv. Jitter (only guaranteed with some ISP’s)
Typically a 99.9% Reliability Standard, at minimum

6. Better Guaranteed Response Time

DIA support will be within a 4 hr response time as opposed to a “next business day” support effort.
